Waters of Bourdeille

Oil on Panel 14 x 11 Available

$570.00 USD

One of the last villages we visited to paint, Bourdeilles sits on the Dronne River. It is a historic medieval commune located in southwestern France, widely known for its iconic stone bridges and its twin castles that overlook the riverbanks.
It is said that the Vikings wanted to conquer this small village; however, the river was too shallow for their ships!
I really struggled with this plein air piece. I was trying to get the atmospheric effect of the water going back into the distance- yet keeping the wonderful light of the buildings.
